In the public tender published by Port of Koper in September 2023, RIKO, industrial, construction engineering, and leasing d.o.o., was chosen as the contractor for building a solar power plant on warehouses 50 and 51.
The contract with the contractor was signed in December 2023, and the construction is set to commence in January, with completion expected in the spring months. The solar power plant is co-financed as part of the SOPOREM project, funded through the European Economic Area Financial mechanism.
The planned capacity of solar power plant is 3.3 MWp, equivalent to the annual production of 3,630 MWh of electricity. Port of Koper will continue to accelerate investments in the construction of solar power plants in the coming years, contributing to the green transition and reducing CO2 emissions.
