On September 28, 2023, a delegation from the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development, led by the State Secretary responsible for cohesion policy, Mr. Marko Koprivec, visited Luka Koper to discuss the progress of the SOPOREM project. The working meeting aimed to inform the delegation about the completed activities of the project.
The President of the Management Board and the Head of the Strategic Development Department, Borut Čok, briefed the delegation on the completed activities and the timeline, which anticipates the project’s completion in the first half of the coming year. Currently, a tender for the selection of the contractor is underway, and construction is expected to commence later this year.
The Mayor of the Municipality of Koper, Aleš Bržan, and his team joined the delegation, presenting the municipality’s activities as a project partner in SOPOREM. As part of this collaboration, a smaller solar power plant will be constructed on the roof of the Sonce parking garage, in addition to the power plant within the port area.
